Recently, a delegation from the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan visited Moscow to study the practices of the Federal Tax Service of Russia regarding the taxation of internet workers, including bloggers. This visit aims to implement modern approaches and increase transparency in the digital services sector.
In 2025, Uzbekistan took significant steps to legalize the internet economy by officially including the advertising activities of bloggers and other modern services in the calculation of gross domestic product. According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the advertising market for registered self-employed bloggers amounts to 62 million dollars (760.2 billion soms). Experts emphasize that the actual figures may be significantly higher, as many well-known influencers work through advertising agencies and legal entities.
In addition to bloggers, other previously unaccounted sectors have also been included in Uzbekistan's official statistics and taxation:
Courier and delivery services - the market is estimated at 3.75 trillion soms;
Catering - over 2 trillion soms;
Private legal services and notary services - more than 1.5 trillion soms;
Automotive market mediation - about 65 million dollars.
The Uzbek delegation paid special attention to Russian technologies, such as personal accounts and mobile applications for the self-employed, which simplify the tax payment process to "one click." The exchange of experience with Russia will help Uzbekistan legalize the incomes of thousands of citizens working through social networks and digital platforms, as well as create comfortable conditions for interaction between business and the state.
