Additionally, Rayimbek noted that although the ministry does not directly regulate meat prices, district and regional veterinary services monitor prices at the local level.
Regarding imports, a department representative stated that meat products are both imported into the country and exported beyond its borders. Poultry, beef, and lamb are imported into Kyrgyzstan.
Supplier countries can be conditionally divided into member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and third countries, with a significant share of livestock and meat supplies coming from third countries.
“Each batch of products and animals undergoes mandatory veterinary control at the state border. Inspectors work around the clock at checkpoints, checking the compliance of imported goods and animals with veterinary requirements,” said Avazbek uulu Rayimbek.
