A large-scale project for the construction of cold storage facilities will be launched in Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated the creation of a state program aimed at building a network of modern cold storage facilities across the country. This proposal was presented after the forum "AgroDialogue-2026" and is seen as a strategic measure to reduce crop losses and increase the export potential of the republic.

The goal of this project is to address one of the key problems faced by local farmers: the lack of proper conditions for storing harvested products. The creation of modern logistics hubs that meet international standards will help preserve the marketable appearance of vegetables and fruits for an extended period, which, in turn, will open new horizons for processing and profitable sales in foreign markets.

The ministry noted that the program will be implemented based on a public-private partnership. The state will take full responsibility for the project, from design and construction to certification of facilities and providing consultations on inventory management. It is expected that the new infrastructure will not only enhance the country's food security but also create new jobs in the regions.

Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture predict that the introduction of modern storage technologies will significantly increase the incomes of agricultural producers by eliminating seasonal losses. Additionally, the presence of stable product stocks in the country will help mitigate price fluctuations and reduce the cost of vegetables and fruits for local consumers.
