Residents of the village of Muras in the Leilek district are waiting for the launch of the water supply system
In the Batken region, construction work is nearing completion on the creation of new infrastructure for drinking water supply in the village of Muras. According to information from the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, this project is being implemented as part of a program aimed at improving water management services in light of climate change. The project is currently in its final stage, and soon more than 3,000 residents of the village will have access to safe drinking water.

Significant work has been carried out during the system upgrade: new reservoirs for storing clean water have been built, modern chlorination stations have been installed, and a complete reconstruction of water intake facilities has been conducted. The total length of new main pipelines and distribution networks has exceeded 17 kilometers.

After the launch of the new system, 537 households (3,408 people) will be able to connect to the centralized water supply. This system not only meets modern sanitary requirements but is also designed for long-term service, which will simplify the management of water resources in the area. The construction is being monitored by the Project Implementation Department of the relevant Directorate under the Ministry of Agriculture.
