The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reported that by January 2026, international reserves reached a record of $10 billion 177.18 million.

Compared to January 2025, when reserves were at $5 billion 190.86 million, their volume has doubled, corresponding to an increase of over 96 percent over the year.

Throughout 2025, there was a steady growth in reserves. For instance, at the beginning of June, the total asset volume was $6 billion 508.42 million, and by October it had nearly reached $8 billion.
The most significant increase occurred in the last month: from December 2025 to January 2026, reserves grew by $1 billion 574.04 million, which is 18.3 percent.
The gold and foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan play a key role in the country's economy, providing a "safety cushion" for the national currency and supporting liquidity in the event of external obligations. The current level of assets is the highest since the independence of the republic.
