In January 2023, Kyrgyzstan's economy demonstrated an impressive GDP growth of 9%. This data is presented in the latest weekly macroeconomic review by the Eurasian Development Bank.
The bank's analysts noted that the main factor behind this growth was high consumer demand. In particular, domestic trade contributed 2.6 percentage points to the overall GDP growth, while other service sectors added 1.9 p.p. Investments in fixed capital also continue to grow at double-digit rates, increasing by 17.9%, experts add.
According to EDB forecasts, Kyrgyzstan's economy will continue to develop at high rates in 2026. GDP growth is expected to reach 9.3% by the end of the year.
