
As part of the implementation of the energy strategy, it is planned to put into operation 48 small hydropower plants in Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2030, with a total capacity of 420.8 MW. This information was announced by the Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev, at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of industrial policy, as well as transport and energy.
In addition, the minister noted that since 2021, 27 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 109.8 MW have been successfully operating in the republic. As a result of the operation of these stations, 427 million kilowatt-hours of electricity are produced annually.
