The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has updated its resolution and now allows commercial banks in the country to export worn-out US dollars until September 1, 2026, although the previous deadline was set for March 1, 2026.

After completing operations for the export of such dollars, banks must submit a report on the actions taken within two working days to the National Bank.

Additionally, the financial regulator has extended the validity of the resolution concerning the Kazakh tenge. The document states that commercial banks, exchange offices, and microfinance organizations licensed to exchange cash foreign currency must set the purchase rate of the Kazakh tenge to the Kyrgyz som, taking into account a risk coefficient not exceeding 70% of the official rate established by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. The validity of this document has been extended until September 15, 2026.
