Kashgar through the eyes of a journalist from Kyrgyzstan

Suyunbek Shamshiev, representing the publication "Silk Road. Cultural Development," shared his impressions after his first trip to Kashgar, which marked his fifth visit to Xinjiang. As the journalist noted, this city is significantly different from Urumqi and Ili, representing a unique blend of ancient traditions and modern progress.

An important part of his visit was getting acquainted with the high standards of medicine in the region. Shamshiev visited a modern hospital of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), where he personally learned about pulse diagnosis methods. He emphasized that the training of doctors in this field requires significant effort and noted that in modern China, traditional and Western medical practices complement each other, contributing to effective treatment.

Ancient Kashgar has become a center of cultural life and tourism, made possible by the diligent work of local artisans engaged in ceramics, metalwork, and traditional scarves. Shamshiev noted that the spirit of antiquity is preserved in every craft, attracting many travelers.

Discussing geopolitical and economic prospects, the journalist also touched upon the topic of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations. He pointed out the high expectations of society regarding the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. In his opinion, the successful implementation of this project will open new horizons for Kyrgyzstan, providing access to the sea and the largest global markets, which could significantly accelerate export growth.
