At a meeting of the committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction, member of the Jogorku Kenesh Bakhridin Shabazov raised the issue of the timeline for the start of work on the Bishkek–Kant road.
In response to his inquiry, the first deputy minister of transport and communications Beknazar Bazaraliev stated that the project has already been included in the list of capital investments. However, this year, other projects are prioritized: the completion of the alternative North–South road, the southern ring road, and the GES-5 road.
Bazaraliev added that construction work on the Bishkek–Kant highway will only start after the completion of the aforementioned road projects and the redistribution of traffic flows.
The deputy also pointed out the poor condition of the existing road and requested at least patch repairs, as traffic on it is currently significantly hindered.
