In January, Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew by 9%, reaching 125.7 billion soms
As noted by Nazira Kerimalieva, the positive dynamics in the economy are observed due to growth in the sectors of commodity production, services, and an increase in taxes on goods.
In the structure of GDP, services account for the largest share — 52.3% of the total volume. Industry occupies 24.9%, agriculture — 4%, and construction — 1.8%.
The volume of industrial production in January 2026 amounted to 69.8 billion soms, which is 12.7% more compared to the same month last year. The main factor for growth was the increase in the production of wooden and paper products, as well as products in the fields of printing, rubber and plastics, construction materials, chemicals, vehicles, refined petroleum products, food, tobacco products, pharmaceuticals, basic metals, and the extraction of mineral resources.
As for agriculture, the gross output in this sector in January 2026 amounted to 14.6 billion soms, increasing by 3.5% compared to January of last year, thanks to growth in livestock production.
The construction sector also demonstrated positive results: the gross output in January amounted to 5.6 billion soms, which is 25.7% more than in January 2025.
Additionally, in January 2026, the turnover of wholesale and retail trade reached 152.1 billion soms, increasing by 21% compared to the same period last year.
