- Based on information from the Eurasian Economic Commission, Kyrgyzstan stands out among the EAEU countries for the high prices of carrots, potatoes, beets, and onions.

An interesting fact concerns pome fruits, such as apples and pears.

In December, Kyrgyzstan became the most expensive in this market, with a price of $977 per ton, which is 24% higher than in Russia ($787 per ton) and 51% higher than in Armenia ($646 per ton).
? Carrots$570$350+63%
? Beets$497$335+48%
? Potatoes$373$273+37%

Kyrgyzstan also differs in prices for tomatoes and cucumbers, ranking 5th in price positions in the EAEU.
? Cucumbers$970$1747−44%
? Tomatoes$1093$1863−41%

Kyrgyzstan ranks second in grain prices, second only to Armenia.

Wheat in Kyrgyzstan costs $237 per ton, which is 19% higher than the average in the EAEU ($199), while barley costs $217 per ton, 13% higher than the average ($192).

Kazakhstan offers lower prices for staple products such as grains and root vegetables, while Kyrgyzstan is more competitive in the cucumber and tomato segment, which are key for winter greenhouse farming.

Thus, producer prices in December 2025 in the five EAEU countries present an interesting picture. Kyrgyzstan, despite its small economy, demonstrates both high and low prices for agricultural products, depending on the specific product.

For example, a kilogram of cucumbers in Kyrgyzstan in December 2025 costs $0.97, which is significantly cheaper than in Russia ($2.27) and Kazakhstan ($2.22). However, when it comes to staple products, the situation changes.

Carrots in Kyrgyzstan cost $570 per ton, which is three times more than in Kazakhstan ($186) and twice as much as in Russia ($235). Beets are $497, potatoes are $373, making Kyrgyzstan a leader in price for these categories.

Grain prices also stand out. Wheat ($237/ton) is 50% more expensive than Kazakhstan's ($158/ton), while barley ($217/ton) is 63% more expensive. These differences reflect not so much the quality of the products as the economic situation.

One of the most unexpected figures is the cost of pome fruits (apples, pears) in Kyrgyzstan — $977 per ton, which is higher than prices in Belarus ($817), Russia ($787), and Armenia ($646).
