Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Account for 87% of All Investments from Other Countries in Central Asia

According to data from the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) for 2026, intra-regional investments in Central Asia have increased fourfold over the past five years.

In 2024-2025, mutual investments between the countries of the region rose by $400 million, which is 42%, reaching a total of $1.3 billion.

The EDB asserts that the growth of intra-regional investments was driven by key projects, including the construction of residential complexes in Tashkent involving Kazakh companies, as well as Kazakhstan's investments in the banking sector of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbek investments in a household appliance manufacturing plant in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan.
