The increase in rental fees in the markets of Bishkek was announced on February 11 at a meeting of the Bishkek City Council.
The chief engineer of the municipal enterprise "City Road and Transport Infrastructure," Ulan Kurmanbekov, reported that the rates have been increased by 20%. This decision is aimed at improving conditions for the further development of the markets.
He noted that the rent at the "Dordoy" market has risen by 40%, while at the "Alkan bazaars" it has increased by 20%. The rental rates at municipal markets were agreed upon during negotiations with entrepreneurs, the official added.
