As part of a large-scale infrastructure project initiated by the Aksy District Water Management Authority, the construction of a new irrigation system in the Kashka-Suu rural area is nearing completion. This system is designed to address the long-standing issue of water scarcity for irrigation in the villages of Sögöt and Kara-Töbö.
The idea for the project was proposed by delegates at the III People's Kurultai, after which the necessary funds were allocated from the republican budget for its implementation. Construction work, which began in 2025, is strictly adhering to the established schedule.
The engineering solution includes the creation of a water supply main consisting of pipes with diameters of 250-350 mm. The length of the new network will be 16 kilometers. The completion of the irrigation section "Kashka-Suu" is scheduled for May 2026, which will allow the system to be put into operation during the current irrigation season.
The launch of the new irrigation system will provide irrigation water for over 500 hectares of agricultural land. The district water management authority notes that this will not only increase the yield of agricultural crops and the income of local farmers but will also be a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Aksy District.
