Reforms in the agricultural sector are planned in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at strengthening food security and creating large production units. As part of the Republic's Development Program until 2030, the authorities intend not only to increase raw material production volumes but also to significantly improve its processing by implementing digital and innovative technologies.

Expected results by 2024:

Key areas of development

The government focuses on creating a sustainable structure in production. In livestock farming, the emphasis will be on improving the breeding base and applying intensive fattening methods.

Programs for the development of organic farming and the halal industry will provide opportunities to access premium export markets.

In crop production, the focus will be on using quality seeds and modern agricultural technologies.

Digitalization and irrigation technologies

To enhance efficiency in the agricultural sector, the introduction of artificial intelligence, drones, and precision farming systems is planned.

Large-scale activities for the modernization of water resources are also planned, including the reconstruction of 5,000 kilometers of canals and the creation of automated water distribution systems.

The government will encourage farmers to switch to drip and sprinkler irrigation.

Infrastructure and workforce training

The creation of agro-clusters and trade-logistics centers will ensure the integration of producers into a single supply chain. Alongside technical updates, the training of qualified specialists will begin. A grant and internship system aimed at attracting new personnel to the agricultural sector will be developed for the youth.

The program includes measures for adaptation to climate change, including the development of drought-resistant crops, which will ensure long-term stability of agriculture in the country.
