The minister answered whether the irrigation water tariff will be increased.
He also noted that there had previously been inadequate control in the area of water resource management, which affected the state of affairs.
“We have set tariffs, of which 50% are allocated for channel cleaning and updating pumping equipment. The remaining 50% goes to the salaries of murabs and workers at pumping stations. Previously, their salary was 5,000 soms, but after supporting farmers, we increased the tariffs. Last year we managed to collect 100 million soms, and this year we expect to collect 300 million soms. The salaries of employees have been increased to 12,000 and 18,000 soms. We do not take anything for ourselves; this money goes to your constituents. This year, the tariffs will not change, but we will focus on proper regulation. Next year, we plan to collect 800 million soms,” he added.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that although the tariffs in the country are low, there are many problems in the industry.
