Talgarbeck Izyakanov: Kyrgyzstan needs a soil science institute

In Bishkek, a meeting in the format of an agro-dialogue was held, organized by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Mahabat Mavlyanova, where experts shared their opinions on the future of organic farming in Kyrgyzstan. One of the central proposals was the establishment of a scientific research institute of soil science in the country.

This initiative was presented by Talgarbeck Izyakanov, head of the Department of Soil Science, Agrochemistry, and Agriculture at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU), candidate of agricultural sciences. He noted that such events are extremely important for the agricultural sector, as they contribute to the integration of theory, science, and practical experience. According to him, the transition to organic farming requires not only a rejection of chemicals but also a responsible approach to production and the preservation of soil fertility for future generations.

In his speech, Izyakanov emphasized the problems associated with soil degradation and the deterioration of crop quality. He added that the KNAU department is actively engaged in research in this area and is training specialists in environmentally safe agro-technologies. University students study courses such as "Organic Farming" and "Ecological Farming" under the guidance of qualified instructors.

In conclusion, on behalf of the Society of Soil Scientists, the scholar emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach by the state to the country's natural resources. He expressed hope that the establishment of a specialized scientific research institute of soil science, as well as cooperation between farmers, scientists, and businesses, will help Kyrgyzstan make a significant step forward in the development of the organic sector and ensure the ecological safety of the population.
