In Sokuluk, a seven-month-old lamb was brought to the livestock market and valued at 30 thousand dollars — the livestock breeder revealed how much was offered.
According to information from traders, on February 8, this particular ram became the most expensive among all sheep and goats. The farmer brought five lambs to the market: two were 4 months old, one was 7 months old, and two were 8 months old. The seven-month-old lamb was valued at 30 thousand dollars, while the four-month-olds were priced at 1,000 dollars each, and the eight-month-old was valued at 70 thousand soms.
A Turmush correspondent learned important details. It turned out that the lambs were raised by a 48-year-old resident of the village of Sary-Bulak in the Jayil District, named Kanat Borombaev.
“The lamb, valued at 30 thousand dollars, is the grandson of a ram named Eba, which belongs to local farmers. The word 'Eba' translates to '18' in Kyrgyz. This name may have originated from the ram's birth year—2018—or from its initial valuation of 18 thousand dollars. On the maternal side, it comes from the line of Korabl, and in my farm, there are lines of well-known rams—Korabl, Sharpey, Shirokiy, Tornado, and others,” Kanat Borombaev reported.
Despite the high valuation, traders at the market attempted to purchase the Arahshan breed lambs at lower prices. The lamb valued at 30 thousand dollars was offered for 10 thousand, but the farmer did not agree.
He noted that he began developing his farm back in 2005, bringing in the best rams from farms in Kant, but in 2017, he sold off all his livestock. In 2019, he returned to the Arahshan breed, purchasing new livestock and continuing to develop his business,” Kanat Borombaev concluded.
