According to information published by the "Nomad" publication, the turnover of cryptocurrencies in Kyrgyzstan for 2025 amounted to 1.78 trillion soms. Asylbek Aitmatov, an expert in the field of cryptocurrencies, expressed confidence that in the future the market could reach quadrillion volumes.
Last year, the country's budget received 2 billion soms in taxes from this sector. In particular, the Dordoy market managed to collect just over 700 million soms, while patents contributed 1.2 billion soms.
However, the question arises: does the cryptocurrency market really bring more to the budget than the largest market and all patent workers combined? Or is it just advertising reminiscent of the old "I will buy my wife boots" commercial from MMM, which remains in the memory of many from the 90s television?
It should be noted that last week the global cryptocurrency market experienced a sharp decline. Economists report that within a few days, the capitalization of cryptocurrencies fell by more than 500 billion dollars.
