An industrial park will be created on the territory of the Mailuu-Suu Electric Lamp Plant

Favorable conditions await investors

On the territory of the Mailuu-Suu Electric Lamp Plant, the creation of an industrial park is planned. This decision is part of a presidential decree that aims to implement eased conditions for investors to operate.

Bakyt Torobaev, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, presented this information at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with agricultural policy, water resources, and ecology.

According to him, the government has begun to address the issues that have accumulated at the enterprise. In particular, all salary debts for the last three months have been fully paid, allowing funds to be disbursed to 550 employees. Employees who decided to leave their positions are entitled to a compensation of two months' salary.

Additionally, the authorities have taken on obligations regarding the plant's debts for gas, electricity, and water, as well as loans—the total debt amounts to about 248 million soms.

To restore the production of glass containers, 187 million soms in working capital will be allocated, which will provide jobs for up to 230 people. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the production line for LED lamps: 200 million soms will be directed towards the installation of an additional five lines, creating about 120 new jobs.

Negotiations are also underway with a potential investor to launch the production of thermal insulation mineral wool using glass waste already available at the plant. The minister reported that the raw material base of the enterprise is approximately 700,000 tons.
