
During a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to agricultural policy, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry Bakyt Torobaev reported that 182 thousand tons of fertilizers are needed for the successful conduct of spring field work in the country.
According to him, 22 thousand tons have already arrived, which is about 30% of the total required amount. Eight companies are handling the supplies, and sales are being conducted through 30 retail points.
Torobaev also added that currently, the price of ammonia ranges from 23 to 30 soms per kilogram, while urea costs between 29 and 39 soms per kilogram. The plans for 2026 include sowing 1 million 250 thousand hectares of agricultural land, which is 3 thousand hectares more compared to the previous year.
