- According to data from the EDB, the volume of accumulated investments from India in the Eurasian region has decreased over the past nine years.

As of the first half of 2025, the volume of Indian investments in the countries of the region amounted to $6.8 billion, which is 30% less than the figure for 2016.

The structure of Indian foreign direct investments (FDI) shows a significant dependence on raw material projects.

“Over the past ten years, 80% to 95% of all investments have been directed towards the oil and gas sector. The volume of accumulated funds in raw material assets has decreased from $8.5 billion in 2016 to $6.5 billion by mid-2025,” note EDB analysts.

According to their estimates, the share of Indian FDI in the Eurasian region is shrinking against the backdrop of active and diverse expansion of businesses from other Asian countries.
