“The market for new cars and light commercial vehicles has ceased to be unpredictable, following established market laws. The decline in January was predictable for all participants; the only question was the extent of this decline. The 16% decrease is due to previously adopted measures,” noted association representatives.
According to AEB, following the increase in the recycling fee in December and January, as well as the rise in VAT and the implementation of new import regulations from China, a reduction in the import of new cars into Russia is expected. As a result, buyers will have access to previously imported vehicles and models produced in Russia.
