Daniyar Amangeldiev made a statement at a session of the Jogorku Kenesh
During the session of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Nilufer Alimjanova raised the issue of the need to include cleaning products in the list of socially significant goods. She noted that prices for laundry detergents and other household chemicals have increased by 3-4 times, which negatively affects family budgets.
In response, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, explained that the oil refining and petrochemical industries in Kyrgyzstan are still in the process of formation. Consequently, direct state policy regarding prices for such goods may lead to shortages.
Amangeldiev added that the government conducts regular monitoring of various goods and services as part of the social package. In the event of a sharp price increase, the authorities first reduce the tax burden, specifically by exempting goods from VAT. If such measures prove ineffective, then the introduction of state regulation may be considered.
“We monitor prices every week. If necessary, this mechanism can be activated quickly — decisions are made within two days,” noted Amangeldiev.
In response, the deputy remarked that while monitoring is being conducted, prices continue to rise.
