The volume of remittances from Russia to Kyrgyzstan amounted to about $3 billion

According to a report by RBC, the volume of remittances from Russia to Kyrgyzstan for 2025 may well exceed the mark of $3 billion. Statistics covering 11 months of the previous year show that remittances to our country have already reached $2.99 billion. Experts suggest that this threshold was successfully crossed in December.
In its analysis, RBC refers to data from the central banks of neighboring countries, summarizing the preliminary results of the year. Authoritative sources note that remittances to other CIS countries from Russia have significantly decreased: by 59% to Armenia, nearly 22% to Kazakhstan, and by 13.6% to Georgia.
Against this backdrop, Kyrgyzstan is experiencing the opposite trend: the flow of remittances has increased by almost 17% compared to last year.
According to experts, Kyrgyzstan continues to be one of the most attractive financial hubs for both Russian entrepreneurs and individuals. Local banks, in their opinion, are eager to open accounts for Russian citizens, which simplifies the resolution of financial tasks—from expenses during trips to payments for online services and purchases in online stores, as well as aiding in currency diversification.

For businesses, there are also significant advantages: simplified company registration, lenient banking requirements, low tax rates, and legislation that allows for legal work with cryptocurrencies,” emphasizes RBC.
Economist Sergey Ponomarev highlights that the attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan is not limited to convenience for citizens of neighboring countries. “It is indeed easy to open a sole proprietorship here, and there is a favorable atmosphere for doing business, including simplified tax administration.
Moreover, according to official data, 550,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are legally employed in Russia, although the actual number may be higher. This is happening even against the backdrop of tightening migration rules and the associated difficulties.
Wages for workers in Russia have also significantly increased. For example, the average salary for couriers in Moscow is 174,000 rubles per month. Workers in professions such as sales, landscaping, or construction receive decent compensation. In other major cities, such as St. Petersburg and Siberian regions, there are also many attractive job offers in the labor market.
Thus, the growth of remittances from Russia to Kyrgyzstan by more than 16% is a logical result, primarily from individuals. Our migrants earn money, support their families, save for housing, or start their own businesses in Kyrgyzstan,” assures Sergey Ponomarev.
