In Batken, the irrigation canal is being expanded for 463 million soms.
This canal is 15.5 km long, and its current capacity is 3.7 cubic meters of water per second. After the planned works are completed, this figure will increase to 4.8 cubic meters.
These improvements will ensure water supply for 2,600 hectares of agricultural land, and an additional 300 hectares are also planned for development.
The total amount allocated from the republican budget for these construction works is 463 million soms.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed before the start of the current irrigation season, while the second phase will continue after its conclusion.
