New initiatives to support private kindergartens have been announced in Uzbekistan. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that entrepreneurs who open childcare facilities on vacant lands of schools and state organizations will have the opportunity to not pay rent for 30 years. This measure will be implemented in regions with low coverage of preschool education for children.
In addition, the government will finance half of the costs for each child and will also cover the salaries of educators for three years. To support entrepreneurs, preferential loans of up to 5 billion soms will be provided, and a reduced social tax rate will be in effect until 2030.
At the same time, the education system in the country is undergoing reform: preschool education is becoming mandatory, and private kindergartens will be able to issue state certificates. To improve the qualifications of educators, higher education will be available through a dual system, allowing them to combine study with work. There are also plans to create a network of innovative kindergartens called "Yangi avlod," where increased bonuses for staff will be offered.
