In Kyrgyzstan, 26 auctions for the right to use subsoil plots have been held - MDS

In 2025, 26 auctions concerning the rights to use subsoil plots were held in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Askar Sydykov, acting director of the International Business Council, during a business breakfast at the "B5+1" forum.

According to the IBC's statement, 2,005 licenses for subsoil use have been issued previously, of which 103 licenses belong to state companies.

According to earlier data, there are over 1,000 deposits and occurrences of mineral resources in Kyrgyzstan, related to 51 types of mineral raw materials, including gold, silver, copper, antimony, tungsten, and rare earth minerals.

In the first nine months of last year, foreign direct investments in the mining sector amounted to $190.3 million, which corresponds to 21.5 percent of the total FDI in the country's economy.

The IBC emphasized that investment dynamics in the mining sector have significantly increased, reaching 203.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Additionally, it was previously reported that the most promising deposits are considered to be Kutessai II, Kalesai, Kyzyl-Ompol, Northern Akbash, as well as the bauxite (aluminum) deposits of Zardalek and Katranbashi.
