According to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), over the past nine years, the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) from Vietnam to the Eurasian region has increased to $825 million (2026).

According to forecasts, this figure has risen from $613 million in 2016 to $825 million by mid-2025, which corresponds to a growth of 34%, with a diversification of investment directions also observed.

Russia remains the main recipient of Vietnamese investments, accounting for $570 million, which is approximately 69% of the total volume. However, its share in the portfolio is gradually decreasing due to falling prices for oil and gas assets.

At the same time, Central Asia is gaining increasing importance: in Kazakhstan, the volume of investments reached $128 million, while in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, there is a growth in projects in the fields of real estate and renewable energy sources.

The structure of sectoral investments from Vietnam has changed significantly: the share of the raw materials sector has decreased from 87% to 25%, while the agro-industrial complex has become the main direction with 63% in the portfolio.
