The Cabinet intends to keep inflation within 8%

According to Amangeldiev, the authorities continue to control prices for essential products

Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, spoke at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, where he reported on the ongoing efforts of the government to curb prices for socially important goods and the level of inflation.

He noted that with the support of the deputies, amendments were made to the Tax Code, which enabled the government to regulate prices. As a result, import duties were abolished, and tax benefits and VAT exemptions were provided for a number of goods.

Amangeldiev emphasized that after the pandemic, the inflation rate exceeded double-digit figures; however, thanks to the measures taken, the situation was stabilized.

“Currently, state regulation of meat prices continues, and constant market monitoring is being carried out. This year, together with the National Bank, we are taking additional measures to curb inflation. According to last year's results, it was 9.2%, and our goal is to keep it below 8%,” he added.
