At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Prime Minister, shared information about current initiatives to control prices on socially significant goods.
He explained that the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the antimonopoly service, is implementing a number of measures to achieve these goals. “With the help of the deputies, we managed to amend the Tax Code, which allowed the Cabinet of Ministers to gain the authority to regulate prices. Within the framework of these powers, we abolished import customs duties, introduced special preferences, and exempted from VAT. The post-pandemic period was particularly difficult, when inflation exceeded double digits. Thanks to the measures taken, we managed to stabilize prices, and this work continues,” he noted.

In addition, Amangeldiev emphasized that state regulation of meat prices remains in effect. The market situation is being monitored, and appropriate measures are being taken.
He also added that actions are being taken in conjunction with the National Bank to curb inflation. “Last year, the inflation rate was 9.2%. This year, we aim to ensure that inflation does not exceed 8%,” concluded the First Deputy Prime Minister.
