The Ministry of Finance and the World Bank discussed projects for improving air quality and developing small businesses

- At a working meeting of Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akzholov with a delegation from the World Bank, projects related to improving air quality and developing small businesses were discussed, as reported by the ministry's press service.

The focus of the discussion was on initiatives aimed at sustainable socio-economic development of the country — "Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Developing a Sustainable Financial Market for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)."

Within the framework of the first project related to air quality, the meeting participants reviewed key activities, such as creating a credit line for the implementation of clean heating technologies, collaborating with commercial banks, and informing the public about new initiatives.

"The discussion focused on launching a credit line for clean heating technologies and interacting with banks, as well as the importance of informing citizens," emphasized Nurbek Akzholov.

Ministry representatives also provided information on the current progress of project implementation and planned financing through 2026.

Regarding the project for developing a financial market for MSMEs, issues related to expanding access to financing and implementing modern financial instruments were discussed.

World Bank representatives noted the importance of these initiatives for improving the quality of life, enhancing environmental sustainability, and supporting entrepreneurship, also confirming their readiness for further cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.

As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their desire to continue strengthening the partnership and working together on projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
