
As of the end of 2025, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has released data on a significant improvement in food security. According to the provided data, the country fully meets its needs for 6 out of 9 key products: vegetables, melons, potatoes, milk, meat, sugar, and eggs.
Imports are maintained only in the segments of bread products, vegetable oil, and fruits with berries; however, the ministry notes a significant reduction in dependence on external supplies in these categories.

The specialists of the ministry emphasize that the greatest growth is observed in the production of sugar and fruit-berry crops, where the share of local production has increased more than threefold. Strengthening the agricultural sector and developing domestic production create conditions for achieving complete food sovereignty for the country.
