Bitcoin losses exceeded 2.5 billion dollars
Over the week, the total market capitalization of the cryptocurrency market decreased by 476.6 billion dollars, as reported by Bloomberg.
According to CoinGecko data, a sharp decline in the total market capitalization of digital currencies has been observed since January 29. By February 3, several cryptocurrencies reached their lowest levels since the beginning of 2024, including Bitcoin, which lost 2.5 billion dollars.
The sudden drop in cryptocurrency prices triggered mass liquidations of risky positions in the market and intensified doubts about the ability of "digital gold" to serve as a safe-haven asset amid economic instability.
