At the B5+1 business forum "CA - USA," Erdenet Kasymov, Director of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, expressed the opinion that the tourism sector can become an important catalyst for the integration of Central Asian countries. He noted that for international tourists, Central Asia appears as a whole, which opens up new opportunities for joint development.

Kasymov also quoted President Sadyr Japarov, who emphasized tourism as an important direction contributing to the rapprochement of peoples at the "CA - USA" summit on November 6 in Washington. The President highlighted the need to create a unified tourist space in the region.

The Kyrgyz Republic actively supports the idea of promoting Central Asia as a single tourist destination in the markets of the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia, noted Kasymov.

According to him, modern tourists seek unique experiences, and routes covering the Silk Road and cultural attractions representing several countries generate the greatest interest among tour operators.

He proposed specific steps, including the creation of joint tourist products that combine mountain travel in Kyrgyzstan with historical sites in neighboring countries and reveal the common nomadic heritage of the region.

Kasymov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views the "Open Central Asia" concept as a complement to national brands rather than a replacement. He noted the importance of coordinated participation of Central Asian countries in international exhibitions and synchronizing efforts to promote in priority markets.

Speaking about service quality, he added that the perception of the region depends on the overall level of service, and a deficiency in one segment can negatively affect the reputation of the entire area.

He also highlighted the need for the unification of quality standards, staff training, and the development of joint educational programs, including experiences in community-based tourism (CBT).

He stressed that it is important to simplify border procedures and develop transport infrastructure for the successful development of tourism.

“Even the most effective marketing will not help if tourists encounter logistical problems. Ensuring seamless movement across the region is critically important. Kyrgyzstan actively supports the simplification of visa and border procedures,” concluded Kasymov.
