In the Chui District of the Chui region, a food fair was held, organized by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan. The event was part of a broader campaign aimed at reducing high food prices. At the fair, residents had the opportunity to purchase goods directly from producers, which helped eliminate intermediary chains. For instance, onions were sold for only 16 soms, potatoes for 37 soms, and a kilogram of fresh meat could be bought starting from 680 soms.
This event will not be the only one. The Ministry plans to hold fairs across the country, covering all districts. In some localities, stationary trading points have also opened, offering meat products at affordable prices. The traveling fairs will operate until June, which will help stabilize the market during the spring period. The ministry emphasizes that the country has sufficient stocks of socially significant products, and food security is fully controlled by the state.
