The authorities of Kyrgyzstan expect a record budget surplus in the coming years

According to the Ministry of Finance, the planned budget indicators for 2027-2028, outlined in the Law "On the Republican Budget of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026 and the planned period of 2027-2028," anticipate a surplus of 40 billion 663.6 million soms in 2027, which is equivalent to 1.7% of GDP. For the following year, 2028, a surplus of 51 billion 717.3 million soms is projected, or 1.9% of GDP.

One of the priority areas for using these funds will be financing activities that promote economic growth, including increasing the authorized capital of joint-stock companies with state participation and providing budget loans.

Additionally, the Ministry noted that significant funds are expected to be allocated for servicing the national debt in the medium term.

It is also worth mentioning that the surplus of the republican budget for 2026 amounts to 436 million 398.4 thousand soms.
