Potato harvest in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 decreased to a 20-year low

- In 2025, the potato harvest in Kyrgyzstan fell to a record low level, marking the first such case since 2005, according to data from the National Statistical Committee.

On January 19, the National Statistical Committee reported that the total volume of harvested potatoes amounted to 1 million 170.2 thousand tons. Archive data from the NSC indicates that such a low harvest level was last observed in 2005.

On January 23, the National Statistical Committee, in its harvest report, explained the decline in potato production by a 2.7% decrease in sown areas compared to 2024.
