In 2027, Kyrgyzstan will be able to fully provide itself with fertilizers.
He specified that the annual demand for such fertilizers in the country is 280,000 tons. Currently, Kyrgyzstan imports 160,000 tons, with 80% of this coming from Uzbekistan. This is due to the high costs of building its own fertilizer production plant.
However, according to Alakunov, construction has begun on a plant by a large Chinese company in Nookat, which is expected to complete its first phase by December 2026. It is planned that the new plant will be able to produce 200,000 tons of mineral fertilizers. Thus, by 2027, Kyrgyzstan will be fully supplied with the necessary fertilizers.
