The necessity of changing the system of state assistance to families with children is being discussed in the Jogorku Kenesh
At a joint meeting of the parliamentary groups "Eldik" and "Ala-Too," Akylbek Tumonbaev emphasized the importance of revising the existing system of state benefits for families with children.
He noted that despite the existing laws, the level of support for families with children in Kyrgyzstan remains insufficient and does not meet the real needs of the population.
“The birth allowance is only 4,000 soms, and for low-income families, it is 1,200 soms per month. This assistance clearly does not meet the needs of families,” Tumonbaev stated.
The deputy added that a draft law has been developed to ensure equal conditions for all children, according to which benefits will be paid to all children up to 12 years old. At the same time, support for low-income families with children up to 16 years old will remain in effect.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, 163,592 children from low-income families receive benefits, while the total number of children under 12 in the country exceeds 1.8 million.
“We believe it is necessary to revise the procedure for appointing benefits and ensure equal payments to all children, regardless of their families' financial situation,” the deputy concluded.
In addition, Akylbek Tumonbaev proposed introducing additional support for heroic mothers in the amount of 5,000 soms, considering their contribution to the demographic development of the country and the upbringing of children.
