The issue of the number of citizens with a credit history in Kyrgyzstan was raised by deputy Dastan Bekeshev.
The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Medet Tairov, reported that about 1.5 million people are registered in the general database of the credit information bureau.
According to the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Benazir Nurlanova, out of this number, 1 million 517 thousand people have a credit history, with 302 thousand 355 of them having negative records.
Tairov clarified that a client's credit history is considered negative if the debt on the loan is not repaid within 90 days.
Bekeshev also raised the issue of fraud, where citizens become victims of loans taken out in their name without their knowledge.
"There are cases where fraudsters take out loans in other people's names, and as a result, citizens end up in arrears. Is it possible in such situations to write off loans to restore their credit history? Maybe you could work on this issue before the next reading?" the deputy suggested.
Tairov noted that in such cases, if there is a court decision, the bank can contact the credit bureau with a request to exclude that person from the list of debtors.
