During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 28, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern regarding the licensing of taxi drivers. He reminded that mandatory licensing is set to take effect on February 1, but at the moment, only a small number of drivers have managed to obtain the necessary documents.

Bekeshev warned of potential consequences: "If we do not postpone this deadline, the cost of taxi services will significantly increase, leading to unemployment."

Additionally, the deputy touched on the issue of the closure of private driving schools, mentioning that despite the closures, the property of these institutions is not being returned. "The 'DOSAAF' school was closed, yet other enterprises, such as sewing workshops, continue to operate in the buildings. We also need to pay attention to the problem of driving instruction, which takes too long — 10 months. It is necessary to address the issue of cars with Russian license plates that have been sitting in impound lots for a long time. An amnesty or other measures are needed. All these problems could negatively impact the business," he added, urging that these issues be considered by the transport committee.

In response, the committee chairman Kubanychbek Kongantiev proposed the creation of a special commission to address the mentioned issues.
