The retirement eligibility period in Kyrgyzstan has been extended.
Every two years it will increase by one year
Starting from January 1, 2026, the minimum work experience required for retirement in Kyrgyzstan will be increased from five to six years.
The requirement for a minimum five-year work experience, introduced in 2024, allowed citizens to receive full pension payments. Previously, women had to reach the age of 58 and men the age of 63 to retire, while having at least 20 years of work experience.
From this year, the minimum work experience will begin to gradually increase. Every two years it will increase by one year, and by 2045 it will reach 20 years. This innovation aims to encourage citizens to increase their work experience.
