At the beginning of January 2026, an increase in prices for refined gold is observed in Kyrgyzstan, as confirmed by data from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As of January 27 of this year, the price of one gram of gold is 15,745.5 soms. At the same time, the National Bank is buying back at a price of 15,667.5 soms per gram.
The price of one troy ounce (31.1035 grams) when sold reaches 454,038.5 soms, while the purchase price is 447,329 soms.
The increase in prices in the domestic market is related to the rise in the cost of gold on international exchanges. On January 26, 2026, the spot price of gold on global markets exceeded $5,000 per troy ounce, fluctuating between $5,080 and $5,110.

As of January 27, the quotes have slightly decreased, but still remain at a high level: $5,060 to $5,070 per ounce.

Compared to the beginning of January, when the price per gram was around 14,000 soms, and the ounce was about 404,000 soms, there has been a significant increase of more than 12 percent over a few weeks.

The National Bank notes that the prices for gold ingots are reviewed daily, taking into account the current situation in the international precious metals market and fluctuations in exchange rates.

It should be reminded that the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic conducts sales and buybacks of refined gold ingots weighing from one to 100 grams.
