In the territory of the Tort-Gul rural administration, in the southeastern part of the village of Zhany-Zher, work has begun on the installation of a modern drip irrigation system on additional cultivated land, which is located in the irrigation zone of the R-4 canal. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The project includes the implementation of drip irrigation over an area of 143 hectares, with construction work starting in the second half of January 2026.

The ministry noted that this irrigation system has many advantages, including the rational use of water resources, delivering water directly to the roots of plants, which helps reduce water losses, increase yields, and prevent soil salinization.

Furthermore, drip irrigation reduces labor costs and optimizes the use of water and fertilizers. The goal of this project is to enhance irrigation efficiency, adapt to climate change, and promote sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
