The Ministry of Agriculture is conducting an inventory of wells across the country
The main focus of the meeting was on analyzing the current situation with water resources in the country, as well as the prospects for the development of the irrigation sector and the implementation of both short-term and long-term projects.
Chyngyz Ajibaev highlighted key issues related to ensuring water supply in the regions, particularly emphasizing the need for the development of irrigation systems.
He also stressed the importance of restoring water supply systems in the villages of Baul and Kok-Tash, located in the Leilek district, to meet the water needs of local farmers.
In addition, the deputy raised the issue of the necessity to study groundwater levels, account for existing wells, and prepare forecast data considering climate changes.
In response, Deputy Director Abdybai Zhayloobaev reported that an inventory of wells is currently underway, which will result in the creation of a corresponding database.
He also added that the Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences has been tasked with conducting a study of water basins throughout the republic and preparing a scientifically justified forecast for the next 50 years.
