
In 2025, the state enterprise "Kyrgyzkomur" extracted 1 million 373.8 thousand tons of coal. This was announced at a meeting of the Ministry of Energy's board.
Currently, active mining is being carried out based on nine licenses. In 2025, the following deposits were officially opened:
- Sulyuktu talaa — 11;
- Beshburkhan;
- Markai;
- Torugart — 1;
- Kozho-Kelen.
Mining operations are currently ongoing at all listed sites.
To ensure the population has access to fuel, specialists, in collaboration with local authorities, organized the operation of 142 coal storage facilities. The enterprise also resumed railway deliveries of coal to fuel bases in the Chui Valley and Bishkek.
The modernization of the Kara-Keche open-pit mine has become a significant step towards improving the environmental situation and enhancing the quality of coal. Two modern complexes for coal sorting have been installed in this area, aimed at providing consumers with high-quality solid fuel, as noted by the Ministry of Energy.
