The Chairman of the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service commented on the current state of cash in the country.

According to the latest data, the amount of cash held by Kyrgyz citizens ranges from 200 to 300 billion soms, which is a serious cause for concern against the backdrop of inflationary processes. This was stated by Marat Pirnazarov, head of the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service, at a meeting of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange.

He noted that this is a significant amount that would be more appropriately transformed into other forms.

“We must convey to citizens that these funds need to be converted into investments. Into real sectors of the economy, rather than being kept under the mattress,” the official emphasized.
