Experts noted that there is no body in Kyrgyzstan responsible for certifying organic products and pointed out the lack of government support for farmers. One of the main factors hindering production growth is soil degradation.
During the discussion, participants noted the positive impact of organic products on citizens' health and also discussed mechanisms for marketing finished products and supplying them to large retail chains. One of the proposals made was the creation of an organic cluster for the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants.
